Below is a description of select engagements and a list of current and past clients.
Developed a three-year plan to guide development for the nation’s leading Korean American advocacy organization. Continuing to guide CKA fundraising, including developing a case statement and marketing collateral, advising senior leadership on CKA's first major gift campaign, and conducting prospect research to inform solicitations, events, and outreach plans.
Conducted a feasibility study to determine the viability of a 100th anniversary campaign. Created a case statement and conducted interviews to measure donor interest in the organization's plans and their likelihood of support; developed key messages and identified potential volunteer leaders; defined donor cultivation strategies; and conducted research on new prospects.
Consortium for Ocean Leadership’s
National Ocean Sciences Bowl
Created an annual fund strategy and implementation plan for a national high school marine science competition program seeking to transition to private funding after experiencing significant cuts in government agency support. Upon plan completion, worked with staff to engage potential major donors and guide solicitations, establish an Advisory Council, and provide prospect research. New commitments received during our work together included more than $1 million in multi-year funding from new foundations, individual major gifts, and crowdsourced donations.
Elev8 initially sought a resource development plan to guide short- and long-term sustainability efforts. After creating the plan, we guided development efforts for this East Baltimore initiative that provides out-of-school time opportunities for middle grade students, school-based health services, and support for families. We helped establish relationships with prospective donors in the regional and national funding community; oversaw proposal submissions to foundations and government agencies; and organized special events to build a base of individual support.
Worked with DC's premier baroque orchestra in 2012 to identify annual fund and major gift prospects from its extensive database and develop a plan to strengthen donor engagement. In 2016, together with wealth screen firm Donor Search, we analyzed 1,000 records and created a plan to cultivate and solicit support from top major donor prospect. We also provided fundraising coaching to the Executive Director, assisted with a development position search, and made recommendation to expand WBC's planned giving program.
